The Setting

After establishing the main stakeholders, we can now delve into the setting of the event.

As the fourth largest city in Connecticut, Stamford has a unique atmosphere that parallels the busy streets and large metro and lively area of New York City. In its downtown area, it is bustling with life: the smells of a warm, fresh hot dog can be smelt around the corner with relish and mustard, while car horns blare in the wind, and people with shopping bags and coffee line the streets. Playing an extremely active role in the NYC country art and music scene, downtown Stamford is another city that 'never sleeps'. It is known also for its unique assortment of restaurants and things to do around the downtown area. There are multiple museums, parks, theaters, libraries, and a brewery that can offer enjoyment. You can have a nice, long drink at The Thirsty Turtle or settle down for a nice romantic evening at Bar Rosso, sipping wine and enjoying conversation. Home to more than 120,000 people, the atmosphere just a little bit north of the city changes when driving into small neighborhoods that many people call home. When moving into northern Stamford, the more traditional small town Connecticut can be seen. Parks adjourn every neighborhood, children laugh in the distance while one child is being told to not eat the dirt. The houses are all different, each house with a unique personality. The families inside the houses come out for neighborhood events, sharing food, company, and conversation. Stamford, Connecticut is an ever growing city that gives a big city feel to a small city type of state.
